China Aviation Industry Corporation I-AVIC I is an ultra large state-owned industrial group reporting directly to the Central Government. AVICI is committed to rapid growth and developing into a new high-tech industrial group contributing to the nation.
AVIC I develops and manufactures in series fighter, fighter bomber, bomber, transport, trainer aircraft, reconnaissance aircraft, turbojet engine, turbo fan engine, air-to-air missile and ground-to-air missile, etc. Major projects include FBC-1, FC-1, FTC-2000 aircraft and Qingling, Kunlun, Taihang Engines, which are well-known broadly. AVIC continuously broadens its product range. It is now capable of developing tanker aircraft, early-warning aircraft, UAV and new-generation space vehicle. For airborne equipment, part of the product line is of international advanced state-of-the-art level.
Independently, AVIC I designs and produces the third-generation fighter aircraft for light-or-heavy mission application, which is of equivalent performance of modern advanced products. AVIC I designs and builds the third-generation large-thrust turbo fan engine and the fourth-generation air-to-air missile and develops new-generation aviation weaponry equipment and system as well.
MA60, turbo propeller regional aircraft, has been delivered to many international operators. AVIC I is developing ARJ21, regional jet with AVIC I IPR. Its first flight is scheduled for 2008. AVIC I has capabilities for developing large aircraft. Half of the trunk aircraft in service globally fly with components and assemblies made by AVIC I. AVIC I develops in series light-duty and heavy-duty gas turbine. AVIC I-made motorcycle and air conditioner compressor are market leaders.
AVIC I provides 90% aviation weaponry systems to People¡¯s Liberation Army (PLA), and has produced over 15,000 aircraft in 20 projects, 50,000 aero-engine in 20 projects, and more than 10,000 missiles.
Chinese Aeronautical Establishment (CAE) of AVICI and 31 research institutes comprise advanced AVICI R&D system. There are a number of national key laboratories and a group of academicians of China Academy of Science and China Academy of Engineering. A large number of significant research and test facilities are in the leading position in Asia or in the world. In the past year, AVIC I has made great achievements in critical aeronautical technologies.
AVICI Intranet, connecting over 100 AVIC I organizations in 16 provinces, greatly increases collaboration capabilities on designing and manufacturing and information flow.
